Weather and climate

Bergen has a maritime climate with cold, rainy winters and cool summers. Average daytime temperatures in May are around 15°C with lows 8-12 C and highs 20-22 C. Bergen can offer all kinds of weather on the same day, from rain and hailstorms to sun and blue skies, so we advise you to bring along a water proof jacket and water-resistant/proof shoes. Things to do in Bergen

The most popular spare time activity in Bergen is probably walking. Bryggen and downtown is accessible free of charge. If you want nature, take the funicular up to Fløyen for a walk in the forest; the entrance is up the hill opposite the fish market – if you want art, the four museums by the pond (Kode 1-4) have great collections and are under the same ticket. You can also explore the reccommendations from Tripadvisor, or the recommendations from Visit Bergen.

The currency in Norway is the Norwegian Krone (NOK). Check current exchange rates here. Euros are accepted in tourist shops, not so much US dollars. All major credit cards are widely accepted in Norway.
